Fauré’s beautiful and ever popular Requiem, alongside music by Francis Poulenc – dubbed ‘the Schubert of the 20th century’ for his wonderful melodic invention –, and Frank Martin’s spellbinding Mass, one of the all-time great a capellasettings in the choral repertory. Complemented by organ solos by two great 20C French masters of the instrument: Langlais and Alain.
